TV and Movie Guide

Television directly from the networks:
NBC
Check out the NBC Video Library. They don’t have their entire primetime lineup available but there are several. If you long for old television you will find a few classics available too.

ABC
ABC requires a download of their viewer which seems like sort of a pain. It might make it tough to view this in some work situations. ABC has a limited lineup available on their site. They have six episodes available. They all link to the show sites and all the little bells and whistles that go along with that. If you like the news programming available from ABC there is a link to stories aired by the network. ABC owns ESPN and they have a link but don’t waste your time. Head to ESPN.go.com to view clips. I wasn’t to impressed with the offerings and the in your face advertising for the Ford F-150 made me want to bail out of the site the second I got there.

CBS
Two seconds into the site and I can tell CBS is much better than ABC, sorry multi-million dollar web development team…you stink.
Lots of video, several shows have full episodes, it would be good if there were a few more, and taking a page from NBC they have plenty of their classic programming available. If you are missing The Love boat, Twin Peaks, or the real Beverly Hills 90210 this is the place to be. If you are looking for full episodes of the late night programming you will be disappointed. They clips, it’s probably better, the boss won’t catch on.

FOX
Well, Fox gets it right. Nice looking site and a ton of full episodes and plenty of clips available. I was also impressed that they have a lot of video extras and deleted scenes available for viewing. One thing missing…where are the old shows? I would love to see some 90’s Married with Children.

TNT
DramaVision is the name of their pretty but underpowered website. They have five shows with full episodes. I’ve never heard of most of them but maybe you are a huge fan of the show, Leverage.

BRAVO
I have a confession to make. I like Bravo. Top Chef is still interesting, even if it the same show over and over and over again. I love Kathy Griffin, and I will admit to watching some Real Housewives on occasion. I prefer ESPN so don’t judge me man. Bravo’s site is a little clunky but once you get to the shows page its easy surfing from there.

There are a couple of other fun places to pickup quality time killing viewing. Here are a few cool sites on the net.

HULU
I have blogged about Hulu in the past. You are missing a good site if you haven’t gone there yet. Lots of full episodes, clips and more. Hulu partners with a bunch of TV networks so they are bringing high quality, free, legal content to the net. They do have a section for movies but to be kind… most of them weren’t exactly popular when they were supposed to popular. These movies aren’t wine; they really don’t get any better as they age.

FUNNY OF DIE
Juvenile humor, toilet jokes, and some drug references, perfect for the guy who never grew up. The site is owned by Will Ferrell so you can imagine the direction the site takes. There are a few site exclusives starring some real Hollywood talent. There are some really funny bits on this site and a few dogs. The funny or die title relates to the voting method used on the site. If you like a clip hit funny and it keeps on playing. On the other hand, if you don’t like it hit die and the clip goes up in flames.

More to come in the coming days, please send me your favorites and help me make this page really great.
