I like all things Google, the company makes great products and today it unleashs a new browser to compete with Firefox and Explorer.
Explorer still has the lion’s share of the browser world, but several of my coworkers have really fallen hard for Firefox. It’s hard not to like something that doesn’t crash as often as Explorer.
As for the new Google browser, I wouldn’t expect it to look too pretty — in the typical minimalist approach at Google, company officials promise something that just works and works well.
Google says, “On the surface, we designed a browser window that is streamlined and simple. To most people, it isn’t the browser that matters. It’s only a tool to run the important stuff — the pages, sites and applications that make up the web. Like the classic Google homepage, Google Chrome is clean and fast. It gets out of your way and gets you where you want to go.”
So, head over to Google Blog and keep an eye out for the big beta release of the Chrome Browser. It’s due today, and I can’t wait to see if the latest entry into the free browser market can take another chink out of the Microsoft armor.
