Simon Cowell is the villain of American Idol and that’s the fact. The other fact is that Simon as a judge is right on the money. People may love “Anoop-dog” but lets be real, is he the next Idol, no way people it’s not going to happen.

Last night Simon gave Anoop Desai a nod for a really well done song but he was right the week before when he told him he didn’t belong in the final 13 contestants. The problem with Simon is that he doesn’t have patience for the silliness that is a required part of the show. He is clearly in pain during the auditions because he knows the clowns that show up are just wasting his time. Some of the people get moved through the process because they are a novelty, Simon will destroy their performance every time and he should.

When Danny Gokey did his performance last night how many of you watched him and said to yourself, “why is he wearing that weird jacket”? I did, and so did Simon. When the other judges discussed Gokey’s performance only Simon said something about the parka looking thing he wore. Like it or not clothing is part of the package and physical appearance is important if you want to be an Idol winner.

The truth hurts but if you can’t deal with it, or Simon I suggest heading over to Angrysimon.com and have a go at boxing Simon in a fun little shockwave game. One tip, when they ask for your e-mail address just make something up. You don’t want to get spammed just because you wanted to punch Simon in the head.

So the big news is the bring back a contestant rule. It looks like they are trying to combat sites like vote for the worst. What do you think? good idea or bad. I tried to follow the rules but Secrest turned it into a jumbled up mess as he was explaining it. At least i figured out that it’s a once a season thing.

In elimination news, I like Megan, she’s cool but she better step it up or she’s going to be back in the spotlight looking at a trip home. I was happy to see Jasmine go. nothing personal, I just happened to have her picked to go in the office Idol pool. As for Jorge, he will do well on the cruise line that hires him. He was also on my pick list. Two for two in week one.

Imagine getting fired from your dream job and then having to do a good job singing your last song….. Must be tough on them.
